Kite Flying on Cape Cod
Old Silver Beach in Falmouth is one of the most popular beaches on Cape. Wait for a windier day to fly here.
Sandy Neck Beach is another favorite beach, located in Sandwich. Known for it's off roading, it's best to wait for a breezy day.
Waqoit Bay seperates Mashpee and Falmouth and is a a more quiet area for kite flying, with gusty winds.
Chappaquoit Beach in West Falmouth is best with Southwest winds.
Sagamore Heights in Sagamore can have very good winds. The best spot is past three jetties to the north.
Kalmus Beach is located in Hyannis just past the JFK Memorial. Kite flying is allowed after 4:00 PM, and winds here are higher than average for the south shore.
Bass River Beach is Yarmouth has a long shoreline and generally plenty of wind.
West Dennis Beach is approximately one mile long, ending at Bass River. There is a special kite flying section here, but anywhere along the beach is just as nice.
Chapin Beach and Mayflower Beach in Dennis are both stunning beaches on the North Side; however, there will need to be a north wind in order for the kite to fly.
Red River Beach in Harwich Port has a lot of open space perfect for kite flying, but wind speeds can vary.
Hardings beach in Chatham is a great spot for kiting and kiteboarding.
The Brewster Flats are a superb place to fly kites. This is the widest expanse of flats in North America. At lowtide you can walk all the way to Orleans!

The most windy beaches on Cape Cod have Atlantic Ocean winds, making the outer Cape prime for kite flying. A popular beach to fly kites here includes Nauset Beach, however, due to piping plover nesting you will need to walk south of the parking lot any time during nesting season (March 15- September 15).
First Ecounter Beach in Eastham is an amazing spot for kite flying.
Provincetown beaches, specifically the harbor, are social and beautiful kite flying locations.
